Alternative Coolant is a 
Breakthrough Upgrade, enhancing the 
Aphid's primary fire, Flamethrower.
Effects
- Replaces the standard passive cooldown with an instant removal of all heat from the bot upon not firing.
- Venting creates a small AOE explosion based on the amount of heat vented.
- Damage ranges from ~30-100 damage.
- You can still overheat yourself and explode, but you will not die from doing so.
- The explosion will deflect projectiles.
- SYNERGY
Overclocked Cooling reduces the self-damage of the explosion.
- Does not activate at 1 health.
Tips
- Useful upgrade to obtain if you plan on focusing your upgrades into other bots, as it nullifies the need for
Laminar Outflow, allowing more extensive buildup in other Bot upgrades. - This upgrade acts as a swap-free way to refill your bar when using
Compulsion. - You can get near-max damage by waiting until the overheat countdown begins to let go of primary fire.
- This will not save you from death if the self-destruct was manually triggered using Primary+Secondary Fire.
Trivia
- The explosion effect deals thermal damage, and therefore overheats enemy Aphids instead of damaging them.
