Induction Barrel is a RAM upgrade.png Breakthrough Upgrade, enhancing the Steeltoe icon.png Steeltoe's primary fire, Shotgun Blast.

Effects

  • The shotgun's standard pellet spread is replaced with one slug that breaks into fragments on impact.
    • The slug deals 36 base damage, and this damage is increased to 59.4 if it is boosted with the Resonance Hammer.
      • If the player also has Induction barrel.png Induction Barrel, the slug will become a Molten Slug, which acts identically to a normal slug except that it deals 10% less damage than normal and overheats Aphid icon.png Aphids instead of damaging them.
    • When the slug comes into contact with an enemy or wall, it will fragment into 9 additional pellets that deal the same damage as a normal pellet would.
      • If an enemy is shot with a boosted slug, the pellets will spread out in a focused cone in the original direction the slug was shot instead of spreading out in a circle.
      • Ammo conservation.png Ammo Conservation increases the amount of fragments released by 1.5 for each stack of the upgrade (rounded down).
    • Stacked shells.png Stacked Shells adds an extra slug with each reload.

Tips

  • While the slug by itself deals less damage than a normal shotgun blast, the altered trajectory of boosted shrapnel makes Nail Drivers deal incredible damage, enough to one-shot even Deadlift icon.png Deadlifts.
  • As an effect of the Scattershot, the slug explodes early, allowing proper spacing of the shot to do as much damage as a Nail Driver shot can do with less recoil, applicable as both a failsafe in missed timing as well as reducing the recoil when you don't want it.
  • Has incredible synergy with Induction barrel.png Induction Barrel and Ricochet shells.png Ricochet Shells, turning Steeltoe icon.png Steeltoe into a monster of AOE damage.

Trivia

  • Despite the fragments from a boosted slug having increased damage and velocity, they are still colored blue.
